Cook Like A Pro In Your Kitchen

Summer and grilling are always linked, but we know not everyone is an outdoor chef.

Sometimes it’s too hot to fire up the grill, or maybe you don’t own a grill or yours is broken.

Whatever the reason, we think it’s important to not overlook the beauty of cooking indoors during the summer. With the right tools, you can create a fabulous meal on your stove top.

Or, use the summer months to whip your kitchen into shape. If you’re in need of a new range, cook top or wall oven, we have a deal for you!

Frigidaire will revolutionize your cooking through its game-changing induction cook top. If you never thought of this as an option, it’ll change how you cook. An induction range or cook top offers greater control, faster heat and better results. The best part? It’s a breeze to clean!

And, you can get up to a $500 rebate when you purchase qualifying Frigidaire cooking products through August 31, 2019. Not only will you up your cooking game, you’ll save money too.

While grilling is great, don’t forget about your indoor appliances this summer.

Summer Chores And Family Fun

School is out and your kids are bored.

You don’t want them inside all day watching TV or playing video games. But sometimes it’s too hot to play outside. You’ve gone on family hikes, trips to the museum, and biked around the neighborhood after dinner.

But the kids are still restless, and school is weeks away.

What should you do?

Laundry!

Everyone in the house contributes to the dirty laundry — towels, clothes, sheets and bathmats. Now is the time to recruit your kids to help with the laundry. It’ll keep them busy, teach new skills and lighten your workload.

Kids should also learn to do the laundry because:

1)     When your kids move out someday, whether to college or their own place, they’ll need to understand how to wash and dry their clothes.

2)     It teaches responsibility and strengthens family bonds when everyone works together to complete a task.

3)     Kids can help with the laundry at any age by breaking it down into smaller tasks.

Teach toddlers how to put their dirty clothes in a laundry basket, and have your older kids fold, sort and put their clean clothes away.

Helping with the laundry is a great way for  your kids to beat summertime boredom. And you’ll have less chores! We call that a win-win situation.

How To Beat The Summer Heat

Summer is here, and it’s hot.

Are you prepared for the temperature spike?

Your house should be a retreat from the heat. Somewhere the family walks in and is greeted by that initial rush of cool, refreshing air.

And with the hot days already here, you don’t want to wait too long before getting an air conditioner to keep you, your family and your house cool.

At West Coast Appliance and Furniture, we have a variety of air conditioners to suit your house and specific cooling needs.

With so many types to choose from, we recommend an air conditioner with multiple fan speeds.

Staying cool is important and we think you should have plenty of options!

Don’t let the hot days make your summer insufferable. Visit us today and find an air conditioner which keeps you cool all season.

Do Not Refrigerate These 5 Foods

What’s not to love about your refrigerator? It keeps food fresh, it’s where you store leftovers and it’s the center of your kitchen.

While your refrigerator is awesome, it’s important to know which foods you should (and shouldn’t!) store in the fridge.

We have compiled a list of 5 foods which are better left on the counter or kept in your pantry.

1)     Coffee — If you put coffee in the refrigerator it takes on the flavors of other food. Instead, keep coffee in an airtight container away from sunlight.

2)     Honey — The cool environment of the fridge makes honey unpalatable. Keep honey in its original container in a cool, dark spot in the pantry.

3)     Tomatoes — These love to relax on the counter. Cold temperatures negatively impact tomatoes’ flavor and texture.

4)     Onions — Store whole onions at room temperature.

5)     Avocados — The refrigerator will slow down their ripening process. Leave them on your counter and once they’re ripe, whip up some guacamole!

When your food is stored correctly, the flavors will shine and you’ll have less food waste. A win-win situation!
