Do Not Refrigerate These 5 Foods

What’s not to love about your refrigerator? It keeps food fresh, it’s where you store leftovers and it’s the center of your kitchen.

While your refrigerator is awesome, it’s important to know which foods you should (and shouldn’t!) store in the fridge.

We have compiled a list of 5 foods which are better left on the counter or kept in your pantry.

1)     Coffee — If you put coffee in the refrigerator it takes on the flavors of other food. Instead, keep coffee in an airtight container away from sunlight.

2)     Honey — The cool environment of the fridge makes honey unpalatable. Keep honey in its original container in a cool, dark spot in the pantry.

3)     Tomatoes — These love to relax on the counter. Cold temperatures negatively impact tomatoes’ flavor and texture.

4)     Onions — Store whole onions at room temperature.

5)     Avocados — The refrigerator will slow down their ripening process. Leave them on your counter and once they’re ripe, whip up some guacamole!

When your food is stored correctly, the flavors will shine and you’ll have less food waste. A win-win situation!

The Best Mattress, The Best Sleep

Raise your hand if you want to sleep more soundly.

We see your hands out there!

When you go to bed, you should easily drift off to sleep and let the world fall away. You shouldn’t toss and turn, or think about how tired you’ll be the next morning or how badly your back will hurt.

These are not happy thoughts. But we can help!

A mattress is much more than what you crash onto after a long day. It creates a lush foundation to rest your body and mind. It should be a sanctuary, not a torture device.

If you’re ready for a new mattress, the Carrollton Firm mattress by Serta Sleep True is the best you can buy. The Continuous Support innerspring reduces motion transfer and provides exceptional body support.

This Serta mattress also has Cool Twist Gel Foam, which conforms to your body and promotes airflow.

It’s like this mattress was made for you.

Don’t suffer through another sleepless night. When you have the right mattress, you won’t need that second (or third) cup of coffee because you will be well-rested.

Hidden Dirt In Your Kitchen

You love to clean. Every room in your house sparkles and shines, especially the kitchen.

But we have some bad news.

Unfortunately, dirt and germs hide in the unlikeliest of places in your kitchen.

Since a clean and healthy kitchen is important to you, we’ve compiled a list of three places where dirt and grime may be hiding.

1) Handles, Knobs and Light Switches — Your family touches these surfaces multiple times a day. And there’s no way to know how clean all of those hands are. We recommend cleaning these spots with a disinfecting product every week.

2) Refrigerator Drawers — If you store raw meat in the fridge, keep it in the original container and clean up any spills right away. Also, empty out and wash refrigerator drawers, including produce compartments.

3) Kitchen Sink — Everything goes into the kitchen sink, making it a haven for germs. Each time you scrape food off of plates or toss leftovers into the disposal, it spreads germs. Clean the sink with a disinfecting product once or twice a week for the best results.

Your kitchen is a gathering place for friends and family. Give your kitchen the TLC it deserves so it’s clean and ready for meal prep.

Get Ready For Grilling Season

Are you ready for summer?

Hiking, swimming, rafting, and of course...grilling!

You can smell it already. That thick, savory, smoky aroma of hamburgers, hot dogs and vegetables on the grill. There’s nothing better.

But when it’s time to roll out the grill, you spot trouble. Your grill is either too old or broken to cook anything.

What do you do now? Because bypassing grilling season is unacceptable.

Well, we’re known for our appliances and furniture, but we also have grills!

Our Traeger Wood Fired Grills will infuse your food with big flavors. Traeger grills are powerful, economical and able to handle all your grilling desires. In addition to grilling, you can smoke, bake, roast, braise and BBQ.

Get ready to have lots of people over, because your backyard will be the most popular spot in the neighborhood.

Summer is almost here. Make sure you have the perfect grill by your side to create unforgettable meals.

A Cozy, Casual Dining Table

You love spring.

Besides Easter, there aren’t many holiday meals to plan. And if one of your relatives wants to host the holiday festivities, all the better.

It’s not that you don’t have the space to host a large gathering; you do. But after the continuous holiday celebrations in fall and winter, you need a break. It gives you time to thoroughly clean the formal dining room, your table and nice silverware. Everything will be ready for the holiday rush later this year.

However, something is lacking. You don’t like eating casual meals in the formal dining room. You also have a dine-in space in your kitchen that you don’t use.

Well, not anymore!

West Coast Appliance and Furniture has a cozy dinette set which will perfectly accommodate small, quick meals, and provide the kids with a place to do their homework.

The Studio City Pub Dinette set has smooth, clean lines and a contemporary style. The warm cappuccino finish blends well with any decor and adds a splash of sophistication.

Give your formal dining room and table a well-deserved rest. Enjoy family meals at a stylish and cozy table.
