How To Remove Grass Stains

Who doesn’t love spring? Backyard parties, baseball games and playing outside are just a few favorites. 

And then there are grass stains. So many grass stains.

You love to shop for new outfits for your kids. They look so adorable in their new clothes, especially running around the yard with their friends. The sight of them playing happily warms your heart. And then they return inside with their clothes covered in grass stains.

It’s an all too familiar scenario, and grass stains are so hard to remove. But what exactly makes these stains so stubborn?

Grass stains are comprised of different proteins, but they’re made mostly of chlorophyll from the plant. The chlorophyll is a dye stain, and some think dye stains are the toughest to remove. But not impossible.

If the stained fabric is machine washable, try these steps:

●       Pre-treat the stain with your preferred liquid laundry detergent

●       Rinse the clothing completely

●       Soak in warm water and a capful of all-fabric bleach (not chlorine bleach!)

●       Let this soak for an hour

●       Rinse the clothing completely again

●       Repeat until no stain remains

Grass stains are annoying, but possible to remove. But when the grass stain fades, your regular clothes still need attention. To Fix Or Not To Fix?

Our appliances are an integral part of daily life. So what happens when the refrigerator rattles, microwave breaks or the dishwasher doesn’t wash anymore? There may be service advice on how to solve the problem your appliance has. Additionally, appliances under warranty may have repairs covered and be less expensive than buying a new model.

Appliances don’t last forever. To know if you should repair or replace, use this rule: if an appliance is 50% through its lifespan, the cost to fix it should be less than 50% of the price of a new appliance.

Time to buy new. Sometimes an appliance is on its last leg. Before you jump into purchasing a new appliance, consider size, fuel, energy usage, features and overall value. Doing the proper research beforehand ensures you find the appliance which best suits your needs.
